Benetton - Unhate News (Part 1)

The Unhate News project, a new iniciative of Benetton in collaboration with the United Nations, gives people from all over the world an online platform to create the news that we would all like to see, transforming typical news stories of intolerance and injustice into a positive, hopeful message.
Anyone can create their own encouraging news and become an Unhate reporter by writing a headline, uploading a picture or just posting a video in the website unhatenews.com, where all these submissions are published as a mozaic of positive news.
The UnHate News project started with four main news items to provide the potential reporters with some indications of method and style. The four major current issues addressed are: Rights for homosexuals, Illegal immigration, the dispute between China and Japan over the Senkaku islands, and Child brides in Africa and Asia.
These news items were published in the site unhatenew.com and also in a special edition newspaper which was available in all major cities in the world.
Blending the boundaries between reality and fiction, these fours news has been published in the form of stories with videos and pictures that are seemingly authentic but surprisingly positive – stories that you would like to see on the front pages. Through a narrative that is fictional and full of hope, the UnHate News draws attention to social injustice, promoting a vision of a different world.
